National Hajj & Umrah Vaccination Service 2012 Launched at the World Hajj & Umrah Convention, British Museum, London

CEO of CBHUK and Lord Adam Patel of Blackburn at the launch of the National Hajj & Umah Vaccination Service 2012 at the World Hajj & Umrah Convention, British Museum, LondonMonday 13th February, 2012 – London

A Bolton based charity has launched its Pre-travel vaccination service for 2012 in the presence of International delegates who attended the World Hajj & Umrah Convention at the British Museum over the weekend.

Rashid Mogradia, CEO and founder of the Council of British Hajjis (Pilgrims) was invited to address an audience of international delegates who had come to the World Hajj & Umrah Convention 2012 at the museum.  His expertise on Hajj & Umrah facilitation and pilgrim support in the UK was shared with the attendees which included distinguished guests  from  Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Lebanon,  Jordan, Spain, Nigeria, India, Pakistan, South Africa and the UK.

Lord Adam Patel of Blackburn –  patron of the CBH said “I am delighted to launch this service which has been pioneered by the CBH and will help ensure people have access to the vaccine so that they can protect themselves and their families”.  The clinics have been a great hit.

Dr Mohammed Jiva CMO at CBH said “Our service is offered in the community with a free vaccination certificate and the patients can get all the necessary pre-travel health & safety advice under one roof which will ultimately save the NHS money in treating returning pilgrims who may fall ill if not properly immunised”.   The service has been a great hit, which was first piloted in Bolton back in 2008 and now covers UK wide.  It is delivered in partnership with leading community groups and run by volunteer doctors and health care professionals and provided at cost-neutral.

The venue was significant as only few weeks ago HRH Prince Charles launched the Hajj Exhibition at the British Museum Hajj: Journey to the Heart of Islam which runs until 15th April 2012.

The clinics are open to all communities and people need to be pre-book the vaccine in advance via www.cbhuk.org.

Ends.
