ZIYARAH
Ziyārah or Ziyarat is an Arabic term which literally means “visit” and is used to refer to visits to sites associated with Muhammed (SWS), his family members and descendants, important events in Islamic history, his companions and other venerated figures in Islam such as the prophets (Peace be Upon Them).
Sites of interests include mosques, graves, battlefields, mountains, and caves.
Some sites you would be able visit yourselves as they will be located within walking distance and other sites it is recommended to hire a local Ziyarat guide but please bear in mind price and knowledge vary so you should ask your tour operator for recommendation.

Birthplace of Muhammed (sws)
This is the birthplace of Prophet Muhammed (sws), it is located within close proximity to Masjid ul Haram in Souq al-Lail (the Night Market) District. -
Mount Hira
The Mount of hira quite well known as Jabal Noor lies about 2 miles away from kabah. On its top is a small cave, it's a place where the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) received the first revelations of the Holy Quran during the month of Ramadan. -
Mount Thawr
Mount Thawr is the mountain that have the cave in which the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his companion Abu Bakr (RA) sought refuge for three days and nights from the Quraysh, at the time of migration to Madinah. -
Jabal ul Rahma
Jabal-ur-Rehmah is well known as the mountain of mercy on the plain of Arafat. The common meaning of the word Arafat is ‘To Know’. Standing there is an essential requirement of Hajj and pilgrims come here on the 9th Dhul Hijjah i.e. the second day of the Hajj. After being taken out of Jannah and placed on Earth, it was the point where the Adam (AS) and Hawa (AS) met up. -
Mina
7KM east of the Masjid al-Haram is where Hajj pilgrims sleep overnight on the 8th, 10th and 11th (and some even on the 12th) of Dhul Hijjah. It holds the Jamarat, the three stone pillars which are pelted by pilgrims as part of the rituals of Hajj. -
Jamarat
The three stone pillars/walls which are pelted as one of the obligatory ritual of Hajj in emulation of the Prophet Ibrahim (AS). They represent those three locations where Prophet Ibrahim (AS) pelted the Satan with stones when he tried to persuade him from sacrificing his son Prophet Ismail (AS). The pillars are significantly known as the ‘Jamarat-al-Ula’, ‘Jamarat-al-Aqaba’ and ‘Jamarat-al-Wusta’. -
Masjid al Khaif
The mosque is located within Mina and it is reported that the Messenger (SWS) and numerous Prophets (Peace be upon them) have prayed salat here. -
Masjid ul Nimra
Masjid Nimrah and is located on the plain of Arafat. When the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was in Arafat at the time of last Hajj on the ninth day of Dhul Hijjah Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) camped here. After midday the prophet (PBUH) delivered his famous sermon at Waadi Urana nearby while seated on his camel, after which he led the salah. More than 100,000 Sahabah accompanied the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) on this Hajj. -
Exhibition of the Two Holy Mosques Architecture
Al-Haramain Museum highlights the cultural and historical dimension of the 2 Holy Masjids and follows the general Presidency of the Grand Masjids and Prophet's Masjids Affairs. The museum contains seven halls distributed as follows: Entrance Hall: It contains recent and up to date portraits and models of the 2 Holy Masjids. Hall of The Grand Mosque: Contains models of precious antiques and inscriptions associated with Al-Masjid Al-Haram. The Holy Ka’ba Hall: Contains models of the Ka’ba cladding (kiswat, the fabric that covers the Ka’ba), the recent door of the Ka’ba, the handsewn material machined for the manufacture of protection and different collectibles. Photography Hall: It contains the rare images of the 2 Holy Masjid. Manuscripts Hall: It contains samples of the manuscripts preserved within the libraries of the 2 Holy Masjid and a replica of the Othman bin Affan’s Holy Qur’an. Zamzam Well Hall: It showcases the rim of the Zamzam well created within the early fourteenth century AH. additionally, there are some ancient inscriptions and recent and new images of Zamzam well. Hall of the Prophet's masjid: It holds recent models and sample of the Prophet's masjid, additionally to some recent and new images. -
The Kiswa Factory
This is where the covering of the Ka’bah is produced. Visits here must be Pre-Arranged. -
Masjid ul Jinn
Masjid ul Jinn, also known as Masjid ul Haras, is built where the Prophet (SWS) drew a circle for Abdullah bin Mas’ood (may Allah be pleased with him) who had accompanied him after the Messenger (SWS) had been commanded to recite the Quran to the Jinn.

Jannat ul Rawdha
Located within Masjid ul Nabwi, this area is is also known as Riadhul Jannah and distinguished by a green carpet. Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) said: “Between my house and my pulpit lays a garden from the gardens of Paradise, and my pulpit is upon my fountain (Al-Kauthar).” [Bukhari] -
Library at the Prophets Masjid
Located on the rooftop, enter via door 10. The library contains Islamic literature from around the world. -
Jannat ul Baqi
Located southeast of Masjid ul Nabwi, Jannatul Baqi (Garden of Heaven) is the main cemetery of Madinah. Buried there are many members of Muhammads (SWS) close family, his companions (Sahabah) and many pious personalities. -
Masjid ul Abu Bakr
Located close to Masjid ul Nabwi, this was the residence of Abu Bakr (ra). -
Masjid ul Ghamama
Located close to Masjid ul Nabwi, here the Prophet (sws) lead Eid prayers. -
Masjid ul Jummah
Located on the borders of Madinah, this is where Prophet Muhammed (sws) lead the first Jummah. -
Masjid ul Qiblatain
Where Allah (swt) ordered for the qibla to change towards Makkah -
Masjid ul Quba
The first purpose built mosque in Islam. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) said: “He who purifies himself at his home and comes to Masjid Quba and offers two rakats therein, will be rewarded the reward of an Umrah (lesser pilgrimage).” [Sunan ibn Majah] -
Uhud
This is where the battle of Uhud took place and the resting place of the martyrs including the Prophets (SWS) uncle. -
The Holy Quran Exhibition
Displays contain a vast number of Holy Qurans from history. It is located outside Gate 5 in Masjid ul Nabwi -
The Beautiful Names of Allah Exhibition
The museum contains the beautiful names of the All Mighty and displays the wonders of the universe, it is located at Gate 13 in Masjid ul Nabwi. -
Muhammad (SWS), the Messenger of Allah Exhibition
Displays are based on the Prophet (SWS). The museum is located outside Gate 11 in MAsjid ul Nabwi is opening hours are 9am-2pm and 4pm to 9pm -
