The Ministry of Hajj & Umrah provide comprehensive services to ensure a comfortable and accessible experience for elderly pilgrims, people with physical injuries and wheelchair users. Both Makkah and Madinah have readily available mobility aids. In the Holy Mosques, there are ramps, elevators, and designated prayer areas to facilitate easy movement and participation in rituals.
Trained staff and volunteers are also on hand to provide assistance, ensuring that all pilgrims can perform their religious duties with dignity and ease.
There are charges for mobility aid hire but if you take your documents e.g. Blue Badge (UK) then these are free to use.
You can also hire manual wheelchairs from collection points aound the the courtyard of Masjid Al Haram.
Most hotels have wheelchairs available for their guests.

Madinah
You can hire manual wheelchairs from the collection points (See Masjid Al Nabawi Map) in the courtyard.

There is a buggy service available for the elderly and people with mobility issues from Gate 308 to the women section and vice versa.

DAYS of HAJJ
In response to the challenges during the Days of Hajj and in an effort to enhance the overall experience for pilgrims, authorities are initiating a groundbreaking trial of smart buggies, mobility scooters & electric 2-wheel scooters during the days of Tashreeq. This innovative approach aims to provide a comfortable, efficient, and accessible means of transportation for the hujjaj, easing the strenuous walk between Mina camps and the Jamarat.
