Transportation Options in Makkah and Madinah

Roadside taxi’s are available throughout, the green taxi’s are licensed and metered.

Trains:
The Al Mashaaer Al Mugaddassah Metro Line, also known as the Makkah Metro, is a vital transportation system designed to facilitate the movement of pilgrims during Hajj. This metro line connects key holy sites including Arafat, Muzdalifah, and Mina, significantly reducing travel time and congestion. With state-of-the-art trains and high-frequency service, the metro can transport hundreds of thousands of pilgrims efficiently and comfortably. The Al Mashaaer Al Mugaddassah Metro Line plays a crucial role in enhancing the safety and convenience of the pilgrimage experience.
Please Note:
- You can ONLY use the metro if it is included with your Hajj Package, you cannot purchase tickets separately.
- The Mashaaer Metro is operational only for the 5 days of Hajj.

Hotel Shuttles: Many hotels in Makkah and Madinah offer complimentary shuttle services to and from the main pilgrimage sites, including Masjid al-Haram in Makkah and Masjid al-Nabawi in Madinah.
