British Armed Forces Muslim Delegation at Hajj

With around 25,000 British Muslims expected to perform Hajj this year, the Council of British Hajjis (CBHUK) has deployed its ground team to support British pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.

Chief Executive Officer of CBHUK Rashid Mogradia said “We are once again grateful to the Saudi Ambassador to the UK, HH Prince Muhammad bin Nawaf bin Saud for his support in deploying the team.  We will be working with our partners to provide medical and welfare support and with the British Embassy for any consular related issues”.

We have also met with British Armed Forces Hajj Delegation which is being led by the Islamic Religious Adviser to the UK Chief of Defence Staff, Imam Asim Hafiz and discussed topics of mutual interest and collaboration should the need arise in extending support to British nationals at Hajj.

Imam Asim Hafiz said “Hajj is about unity of Muslims from around the world and I am thankful to the Saudi Ministry of Defence for hosting us.  Whilst the team will be performing Hajj, we stand ready to work with CBHUK if required to support our fellow citizens on their once in a lifetime journey – The Hajj”.
